Autograph letter signed on the letterhead of the Woman's Suffrage Association of America to Mrs. Kingsbury and Mrs. Stevens expressing her indignation at the omission of her and Mrs. Stanton's names from an announcement of a suffrage meeting in New Jersey, Nov. 17, 1868; autograph note to Rachel Foster Avery re: being each other's guardians, dated February 6, n.y.; published article with inscription, 1897. Also autograph letters signed to Senator Henry W. Blair concerning her campaign in the Congress, Aug. 19, 1886, and to Adelaide Johnson, concerning Johnson's sculpting the busts of Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Nov. 22, 1892.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was born in Johnstown, New York in 1815. She organized the first Women's Rights Convention at Senecca Falls, New York, in 1848 and for more than fifty years thereafter was a crusader for women's rights, especially women's suffrage. She died in New York City in 1902....

Adelaide Johnson was an American sculptor whose work is displayed in the U.S. Capitol and a feminist who was devoted to the cause of equality of women. The high point of her professional career was to complete a monument in Washington D.C. in honor of the women's suffrage movement. Alva Belmont helped to secure funding for the piece, Portrait Monument to Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony, which was unveiled in 1921.
